CNC machining can be divided into five categories according to the basic methods of metal forming. Precision CNC machining includes: drilling, turning, milling, and grinding.
1. CNC drilling services: drilling is a cutting process in which the workpiece does not move when the tool moves, the tool center is aligned with the hole center, and the tool rotates. CNC drilling is mainly carried out on CNC machine tools, including CNC milling machines and lathes. These services produce round holes, which are usually used for machine screws and bolts.
2. CNC turning services: Ordinary lathes are more common machines used for turning parts. CNC turning is a machining process used to manufacture cylindrical parts. When the workpiece rotates, the tool moves in a linear manner and rotates on the lathe. The turning process reduces the diameter of the workpiece and is usually used to specify the size and produce a smooth surface of the part.
3. CNC milling services: Milling is the process of cutting metal with a rotating tool. The workpiece is installed on a worktable, which can move or rotate on different planes, so the tool can work at multiple angles.
4. CNC grinding services: Grinding is a method of removing metal by using a grinding wheel called a grinding wheel. The workpiece is finished by grinding. After grinding, the size of the workpiece is accurate and smooth. When grinding a round workpiece, the workpiece rotates and is fed into the rotating grinding wheel. When grinding flat workpieces, move the workpiece back and forth while the grinding wheel rotates. The grinding process is to perform cnc processing on the hard workpiece after heat treatment to achieve precise dimensions.
